We are in search of a Maintenance Technician in Bologna to join our innovative team as our new #bloqstar. In this role, you will play a crucial part within the maintenance team, ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of machines, equipment, and facilities. This position requires a hands-on approach, technical expertise, and the ability to effectively troubleshoot maintenance issues.

What you’ll be doing 

• Perform on-site mechanical repairs (using a car or van) and troubleshoot to ensure the proper functioning of package lockers;

• Conduct functional tests on the units;

• Repair and connect low-voltage components;

• Verify and control the quality of electrical installations;

• Execute battery swaps in the lockers that need them;

• Handle software fault reports remotely (with the support of the technical team) for lockers in Italy;

• Manage the replacement and electronic testing, using technical documentation to guide your work;

• Collaborate with our team to document interventions, report results, and recommend improvements;

• Provide reactive assistance on-demand, according to the SLA agreed with the clients, traveling to various sites to quickly address maintenance needs;

• Find creative ways to solve electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems in the field;

• Perform priority repairs and routine maintenance tasks in the field, warehouses, and other sites;

• Prepare post-maintenance reports and ensure that data is accurate;

• Complete training sessions, such as technical maintenance training and warehouse safety protocols;

• Support the Operations Manager with other ad hoc tasks as required;

• Assist with deployment tasks including: loading lockers, installing and testing lockers, and organizing warehouse inventory as needed;

• Route and lay cables to ensure proper electrical installations;

• Secure and connect low-voltage components;

• Verify and control the quality of the installation;

• Provide technical training and support to team members and customers to ensure the proper use and maintenance of the lockers;

• Conduct technical visits (surveys) prior to installation to assess the suitability of the site and determine any required adaptations or other certifications as needed.

What you’ll bring to the table 

• Proficiency in Italian and English;

• Basic level proficiency in Excel and data entry tasks;

• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills;

• Excellent customer service skills and patience in dealing with both technical and non-technical users;

• Ease with technology, including hardware and software aspects;

• Proven ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects and workloads.

It would be great if you would also have:

• Technical vocational training or equivalent experience;

• Electrical certifications;

• Familiarity with startup culture.
